What You’ll Do

As part of the SimpliSafe Global Logistics Team, the Senior Manager, Supply Planning will be responsible for the execution and strategic oversight of all inventory management activities within the Global Supply Chain. This individual will drive the effective execution of inventory purchases, manage the 24-month supply forecast, and lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The Senior Manager will ensure alignment between internal teams, suppliers, and warehouses, optimizing inventory levels and reducing operational costs. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to drive system improvements, and a deep understanding of supply chain management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of three direct reports within the Supply Planning function, providing mentorship, coaching, and development aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of all inventory purchases with manufacturers, ensuring alignment with net requirements and business forecasts.
  • Lead the company’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Monitor and report on key inventory metrics such as Weeks of Supply, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand while avoiding overstock.
  • Manage and limit backorders, working closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve supply issues.
  • Oversee safety stock levels to ensure that the business can meet demand fluctuations without holding excessive inventory.
  • Manage internal balancing of inventory between US and UK warehouses, ensuring stock levels are aligned with regional demand.
  • Implement and drive the adoption of a supply planning tool to enhance inventory management processes and reporting.
  • Lead the postponement and production planning processes for retail kits, ensuring timely fulfillment and optimized inventory.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management practices, working cross-functionally to identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks.

Additional Qualifications:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in supply planning, inventory management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of global supply chain processes.
  • Prior experience in managing a team, including mentoring, hiring, and developing talent.
  • Proven success in implementing process improvements and change management within supply planning functions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Expertise in supply planning tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with forecasting and inventory management software.
  • Experience with managing and optimizing safety stock levels, backorders, and inventory balancing across multiple warehouses.
  • Located in Boston, MA. Travel Required: up to 15%.
