Simtra BioPharma Solutions (Simtra) is a world-class Contract Development Manufacturing Organization, partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to bring their sterile injectable products to market. This role:
The Director of Global Learning and Organizational Development will be responsible for leading the organization’s learning and development initiatives including designing, implementing, and overseeing programs aimed at employee development, leadership training, and overall organizational growth. This role plays a key part in aligning learning initiatives with company goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and promoting an engaged and high-performing workforce.
The responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement tailored leadership development, training, and performance improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Leadership Development: Develop and implement programs that enhance leadership capabilities and cultivate a strong pipeline of future leaders.
- Skills Assessment: Collaborate with department heads and HR to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
- Organizational Development: Lead initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness, including team building, employee engagement, and culture.
- Performance Management: Enhance the performance management process with a focus on goal setting, evaluations, and development planning.
- Talent Management: Support succession planning and career development to ensure a robust talent pipeline.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Craft and implement a comprehensive DEI roadmap that embeds diversity, equity, and inclusion into our organizational culture, talent management processes, and leadership development programs.
- Employee Engagement: Oversee the planning and execution of the employee engagement survey, including survey design, administration, and comprehensive reporting. Facilitate the development and implementation of corporate and local engagement initiatives to drive a positive workplace culture.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Provide guidance to team members and managers, fostering leadership skills and a culture of continuous learning.
- Talent Development: Implement processes to identify and nurture high-potential employees, collaborating with HR and departmental leaders on targeted development plans.
- Learning Management System (LMS) Oversight: Manage the non-GXP LMS system including curriculum design, content management, training coordination, and tracking of training completion.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Establish metrics to evaluate learning programs and inform continuous improvement based on data-driven insights.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external training vendors and consultants to ensure effective program delivery.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all training initiatives meet legal requirements and provide reports on learning outcomes to senior management.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or a similar field.
- Proven experience designing and implementing successful employee development and training programs.
- Strong understanding of organizational effectiveness principles and performance management processes.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent project management, communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in e-learning platforms and learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience with change management and leadership development initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTD, or equivalent) is a plus.
