Director, Platform Engineering

As Director of Platform Engineering at SingleStore, you will lead the teams and technologies that power the company’s internal engineering platforms, infrastructure services, and developer experience. You will be responsible for building and operating the systems that enable engineers to develop, test, secure, deploy, and operate software reliably at scale.

This role owns critical platform domains including CI/CD infrastructure, release engineering, developer productivity tooling, infrastructure automation, identity and access management, networking infrastructure, observability, and internal cloud platforms. You will drive operational excellence across multi-cloud environments while improving reliability, scalability, security, and engineering velocity across the organization.

You will own the strategy, standardization, and operational maturity of SingleStore’s internal multi-cloud infrastructure services environment. This includes driving consistency, automation, scalability, and operational best practices across cloud service providers while ensuring critical engineering systems remain secure, reliable, and operationally efficient.

You will partner closely with Engineering, Security, IT, and Product leadership to modernize platform capabilities, standardize engineering workflows, and scale the infrastructure that supports SingleStore’s cloud and database engineering teams.

By combining deep expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure operations, multi-cloud architecture, networking, IAM, and developer systems, you will shape how engineering teams build, deploy, and operate software across the company. In addition, you will champion AI- and automation-driven approaches to modernize infrastructure operations, release pipelines, and developer tooling.

The ideal candidate is a deeply technical engineering leader with experience building and operating large-scale platform and infrastructure systems. You are equally comfortable driving long-term platform strategy, mentoring engineering teams, and engaging directly with architecture, operational challenges, and infrastructure modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

Platform Engineering Leadership - Lead the Platform Engineering organization responsible for developer infrastructure, CI/CD systems, release engineering, internal cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and engineering productivity tooling.

Infrastructure & Core Services Ownership - Own and operate core infrastructure services including identity and access management (Keycloak, FreeIPA), VPN and secure remote access systems, NetBox/IPAM, internal DNS, and cloud networking infrastructure.

Developer Platforms & CI/CD - Drive the evolution of scalable developer platforms and CI/CD systems that improve engineering velocity, build reliability, deployment safety, and operational consistency across distributed teams.

Infrastructure Automation - Champion infrastructure-as-code, automation frameworks, and AI-assisted operational tooling to reduce operational overhead and improve platform scalability and reliability.

Reliability & Operational Excellence - Establish best practices for observability, incident response, capacity planning, security, platform reliability, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Cross-Functional Engineering Leadership - Partner with Engineering, Security, SRE, and IT leadership to align platform capabilities with organizational priorities and deliver scalable engineering infrastructure solutions.

Team Leadership & Mentorship - Build, mentor, and grow high-performing platform and infrastructure engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Platform Roadmap - Define and execute the long-term roadmap for internal engineering platforms, infrastructure modernization, developer experience, and operational tooling.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
