POSTITION OVERVIEW  

We are looking for a Service Logistics Manager who is responsible for end-to-end management of SMA’s spare parts operations across North America. This role ensures optimal inventory levels and product mix are maintained to support SMAs field service teams, customer repair needs, and long-term service reliability. The Service Logistics Manager manages consignment inventories, trunk stock for Field Service Engineers, and strategic stock locations across the U.S. and Canada. 

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

  • Manages and provides leadership for the logistics department.
  • Manages the timeframe of Field Service pick-up request to material drop-off at 3PL.  
  • Manages deployment, tracking, and optimization of FSE trunk stock across the region.
  • Manages inventory at 3PL, oversees all consignment inventory locations, and ensures contractual performance and stock accuracy.
  •  Manages open Field Service Engineer transfers in SAP, eliminating amount of material in “transit” stock.
  • Cross-trains Service and Logistics duties.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure stock visibility and accountability.
  • Ensures proper consumption of material to improve inventory accuracy.  
  • Monitors hand-off assignments and open salesforce cases, improves email, teams, and Monday.com chat communications by setting timeframe standards by urgency.
  • Communicate with Service team regarding material returns to be submitted for pick- up by Field Service, and on which materials are easily accessible and available to FSEs via truck stock.
  • Collaborates with Field Service on reducing the number of materials shipped out that later are determined to be not needed and return as good/unused.  
  • Coordinates weekly auto-replenishment based on ROPs and maintains stock levels in warehouse that covers central U.S.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on failure and monthly/quarterly usage rates.
  • Other duties may be required or assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

 

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a logistics role is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Management and leadership experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain (procurement, warehousing, and transportation) is required.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

 

  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks.
  • This position may require periodic domestic and international travel.
