Relationship Manager - Hybrid - Austin TX
The title “Relationship Manager” is purposeful. Relationship Managers don’t just manage transactions, they nurture relationships with our small business customers. You will be interacting with people from hundreds of industries throughout the US. You will be responsible for knowing the underwriting and packaging requirements of all on-platform lenders and debt products as well as the nuances of SBA eligibility - underwriting/packaging to lender requirements and determining what lender the customer qualifies for and has the greatest likelihood of funding with.
You will be operating in a fast paced and ever changing environment. You’ll make the borrowing process as smooth and transparent as possible by keeping open, consistent lines of communication with the customer as you work through the intricacies of the lending process through to funding.
You will be joining a growing team, some who have been on the team for 4+ years and others who are in their first year. After two weeks of training you will be managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of small business clients.
How You Will Make An Impact:
- Represent the SmartBiz brand by building rapport and trust with a diverse customer base; Build strong relationships with applicants via phone, email, chat, and within the online application
- Evaluate and verify financial documents, such as business and personal tax returns, income statements, balance sheets, bank statements, credit reports etc.
- Master the nuances of SBA eligibility as well as know the packaging and eligibility requirements of all on-platform lenders and debt products— working with the small business applicant to collect required documentation and information to complete their loan application
- Perform a traditional DSCR cash flow analysis as well as Bank Statement analysis, determining what lender and product the customer qualifies for, and educating them on the financial products available to their business
- Work with our team to incorporate customer feedback into the products we offer
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly origination goals
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Political Science or similar
- Prior experience working on a MacBook
- At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience with a financial or lending institution, insurance organization, financial management/wealth advisor, consulting firm, or similar.
- Prior experience with small business or commercial credit underwriting preferred.
- Analytical problem solver with the desire to find creative solutions for tough problems
- Independent thinker with proven ability to analyze data, make recommendations, and route customers to the right solutions
- Effective communicator that can quickly develop rapport and motivate customer action
- A passion for learning, growing, and becoming an authority in your field
- High level of intrinsic motivation, organization, and personal responsibility
- Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus
- SBA experience is a plus, but not required
