Sr. Content Strategist (Remote Eligible)

The Smartsheet marketing team is seeking an experienced Senior Content Strategist to join our growing team. This role will be focused on getting the right content to the right people, in the right place, at the right time. You understand how content can help build a brand and impact consumer attention. And, you know how to measure content performance in order to drive efforts that deliver repeated business results. 

In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of our audiences and their decision-making journeys. You will determine which content types best communicate specific information. And will lead and contribute to the development and optimization of original content and content-centered programs. 

You are familiar with the tech sector, and ideally also have experience with business-to-business (B2B) communications. You’re strategic, empathetic, and know how to get things done. You like problem-solving and are motivated to figure out new ways to help a rapidly-growing business achieve its objectives within an increasingly competitive landscape.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Content Strategy and can be based in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.

You Will:

  • Lead content-centered programs with an eye toward audience, buyer journey, global reach, and optimal impact
  • Analyze content performance to identify trends and make recommendations for optimizations and new content creation
  • Partner with stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to build content that achieves measurable business objectives
  • Track key market trends and competitive messages to create the necessary content to address key trends
  • Develop clear and engaging content that builds the brand while addressing consumer and business needs
  • Perform content gap analyses to determine what type of content is missing and what could be needed
  • Participate in creating, adjusting, and managing an editorial calendar
  • Produce written content on behalf of the Smartsheet brand that is consistent with our brand voice, style, and tone
  • Contribute to thought leadership and content marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, sales enablement, lead generation, customer engagement, sales, and customer retention
  • Support other duties as needed

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in writing, content creation, and content planning
  • 2+ years of experience in content marketing for enterprise B2B SaaS companies
  • Content strategy and project management experience
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital customer experiences, and the buyer’s journey
  • Knowledge of keyword research tools, social media platforms, search engine optimization and search engine marketing
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with design, development, campaigns, product and product marketing, sales, and outside partners such as agencies
  • Great planner, collaborator and strategic thinker

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Pay Range

$120,000 - $157,500 USD
