Sr. Technical Project Manager

As a Sr  Technical Project Manager at Smartsheet, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex technical engagements. You will work with Customers, Account and PS Delivery teams, primarily overseeing engagements where Solutions Architects and Front End Developers are developing, building, testing, and deploying custom solutions for our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of the technical aspects of a project, the ability to manage the project lifecycle, and the skill to communicate effectively with both technical teams and customers. 

 

You Will:

  • Manage all aspects of technical projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships. 
  • Drive the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Smartsheet implementation. 
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring smooth project execution. 
  • Work with Consultants, Solutions Architects & Front End Developers who are converting business requirements into solutions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on project status.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the technical team. 
  • Ensure that engagements conclude with delighted clients that are willing to be referenced for new potential clients
  • Handle multiple strategic engagements simultaneously
  • Proactively mitigate and handle critical customer concerns and at-risk accounts; communicate optimally and appropriately with internal and external leaders and executives.
  • Ensure quality and time management processes are followed by the team (e.g., change controls, time card submissions)
  • Help to document best practices in developing and deploying Smartsheet solutions
  • Liaison with necessary teams within Smartsheet to achieve the above items

 

You Have:

  • At least 7+  years of experience in customer-facing positions in a professional services organization
  • Experience overseeing large billable projects for external customers
  • Experience with modern services deployment methodologies, with emphasis on software design and development
  • Use of formal project management tools
  • Passion for working with leading-edge, web-based technologies and a desire to understand Smartsheet’s benefits, values, use cases, and business and technical elements
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment to promote and improve team performance
  • Strong analytical skills regarding client and project management issues
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage competing client demands
  • Ability to interact and communicate with CxO-level personnel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, CS, or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
  • Willing to travel periodically (up to 20-30%) based on customer and business needs
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer on an ongoing basis
  • 1+ years Smartsheet Consulting experience, leading customer-facing engagements in the enterprise space

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Base Salary Pay Range

$122,500 - $160,000 USD
