Vice President, Product Marketing

United States (Remote)

SOCi, the CoMarketing Cloud for Multi-Location Enterprises, is currently looking for a Vice President, Product Marketing to help scale its marketing efforts to drive awareness and demand for its industry leading AI enabled SaaS solutions.  In this role you will become a critical part of the marketing leadership team with primary responsibility to develop and execute product messaging and positioning, company readiness for product launch, and will be a key product evangelist inside and outside of the company.

SOCi expects to pay a base salary in the range of $180,000 - 245,000 USD base plus bonuses/commission. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

How You Will Make an Impact: 

This role will develop and lead a team of product marketers responsible for helping the company drive more product demand, enable Sales to close more deals, and ultimately deliver more satisfied customers through a deep understanding of our target audiences, markets, and how our products solve real business challenges.  This position will report directly to the CMO and have direct exposure to sales and executive leadership across the company.

Company Readiness for Product Launch

  • Improve our whole company readiness process to get internal alignment, excitement, and effective execution on product launch
  • Facilitate good decision making, trade-offs, and delivery across the organization

Effective Messaging and Positioning

  • Implement a consistent and effective product messaging and positioning framework
  • Manage a team of product marketers, who others trust and willingly go to on all things messaging and positioning; lead this team in developing creative messaging that is clear, compelling, and resonates with our target market
  • Create and refine messaging for our company, each product, business issue, and buyer persona that articulates “why change, why now, why us”; train and certify on messaging so that it is adopted cross-functionally and used consistently

Expert on Customer and Market Needs and Solutions

  • Conduct market and customer research (e.g., surveys, interviews, sales/marketing data) and distill it into insights on buyer personas, buyer journey, and buyer needs 
  • Monitor market trends and changes; advise Sales and others what these changes mean to SOCi and what actions should be taken 

Lead a Team that Supports and Enables Others

  • Become an expert in our competitive landscape and develop strategies, tools and training to help Sales differentiate and defend
  • Collaborate with Product Management to understand our product vision and roadmap that establishes us as a market leader in our space
  • Support our Marketing team with messaging for collateral, web, content and lead generation programs; contribute to or develop compelling content that generates interest and drives adoption of new features
  • Support Sales and Customer Success with enablement, sales tools, and assets (e.g., ROI, Slides, Sales Proposals and RFP templates, Solution Discovery, Scripts, Objection Handling)
  • Partner with Sales Engineering to create value-based demos that highlight key competitive differentiators and link to strategic issues

Evangelize Our Product in the Market

  • Support our Sales and Customer Success team on strategic deals and when needed to present product vision, roadmap and value 
  • Create brand-awareness as a company spokesperson with media, influencers, analysts and more 
  • Speak and present at company and customer events, webinars, as well as industry conferences where needed

Go-to-Market Planning

  • Create and execute go-to-market plans, including packaging and pricing strategy

What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • Remote Opportunity: Ability to work 100% remotely 
  • Must Have:  
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • 7+ years of B2B Product Marketing experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
    • Demonstrated success in past Head of Product Marketing roles - building, leading and mentoring high-performing teams as well as growing revenue
    • Demonstrated success in navigating and influencing challenging dynamics at the executive level, including managing strong personalities and engaging in direct, candid conversations while maintaining professionalism and focus on outcomes
    • In depth, hands-on experience with all core product / solution marketing functions - positioning, pricing, packaging, GTM planning, sales enablement, marketing research, competitive intel and product launch
    • Demonstrated creative thinking with ability to develop new programs that generate awareness and intent, enable sales and excite customers
    • Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on and juggle multiple initiatives with confidence and grace
    • Excellent written and verbal skills, especially in the ability to distill the complex into simple, compelling messages that resonate
    • You are highly collaborative, have strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to develop positive and productive working relationships across our organization
    • Your executive team trusts you because you use data to make better decisions and drive results; you are not afraid to experiment and fail because you use it to learn and drive improvement
