People Operations Generalist
At SOL Mental Health, we're not just building another clinical practice—we're redefining what’s possible in mental healthcare, and that starts with exceptional people like you. As an early-phase organization with ambitious goals, we offer something rare: the chance to truly own your function and make a lasting impact on an industry that desperately needs innovation.
Your Contributions Matter Here
We understand that exceptional mental healthcare requires more than just talented clinicians. It demands a foundation of operational excellence, innovative thinking, and robust support systems—areas where your expertise becomes invaluable.
At SOL, you'll find:
- True ownership opportunities in a growing organization where your ideas can become organizational standards
- Direct access to passionate executive leadership committed to building both an exceptional service and an exceptional workplace
- Career development pathways that evolve as we grow, with opportunities emerging faster than in established organizations
- Cross-functional collaboration that exposes you to multiple aspects of healthcare innovation and practice management
Why Building Something New Matters
Building a leading mental health practice is challenging—we don't pretend otherwise. But when passionate professionals unite under a common mission, exceptional things happen. Your contributions at SOL won't disappear into the machinery of a large organization; they'll visibly shape our practices, culture, and success.
The People Operations Generalist
We're looking for a People Operations Generalist who wants to do meaningful work across the full employee lifecycle—and who's genuinely excited about building better systems and processes along the way. This isn't a role where you'll just "keep the lights on." You'll be the connective tissue of our People Operations function, supporting everything from onboarding to benefits to credentialing while helping us mature our infrastructure for scale.
SOL Mental Health operates in five states with a clinical workforce that includes therapists, associate therapists, and psychiatric clinicians. You'll be their first point of contact for many HR needs, and you'll take pride in providing responsive, thoughtful support that reflects our mission.
Primary Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations
- Manage the shared People inbox—triage inquiries, resolve issues, escalate appropriately, and identify patterns that point to process improvements
- Benefits administration support: enrollment, changes, carrier coordination, and employee questions
- Leaves of absence support: SOL documentation, liaison with LOA vendor
- Employment verifications, compliance documentation, and HR recordkeeping
- Support for employee lifecycle transactions in Paylocity
Onboarding & Credentialing Support
- Execute onboarding logistics for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition from offer acceptance to day one
- Partner in management of and facilitation of our SOLstart sessions (our structured onboarding program) and gather feedback for continuous improvement
- Support credentialing workflows, including document collection and tracking
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions—you'll have a voice in how we work
- Partner with the People Operations Manager on systems improvements and automation
- Contribute to policy documentation and employee-facing communications
Offboarding
- Execute offboarding logistics for all exiting employees, including any coordination with the HRBP, market leaders, and IT
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally in a generalist or coordinator role with broad exposure
- Strong customer service orientation—you genuinely enjoy helping people solve problems
- Comfort with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and a natural inclination toward process improvement
- Previous experience with employee benefits preferred
- Familiarity with employee leaves of absence helpful
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain composure when things get busy
- Healthcare or behavioral health experience is a plus, but not required
- Interest in growing your career in People Operations—we'll invest in your development
Salary range: $70,000 - $82,000 based on experience
