Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager – Hardware Firewalls to lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of SonicWall’s next-generation firewall appliance portfolio. This role is responsible for defining and delivering high-performance security appliances that protect modern networks while meeting the operational needs of managed service providers, SMBs, and distributed enterprises.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, hardware design, supply chain, marketing, sales, and global partners to bring innovative security platforms to market. The ideal candidate combines deep networking and security domain expertise with strong product leadership and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute the hardware firewall product strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities across SMB, mid-market, and distributed enterprise segments.
  • Translate customer and partner insights into differentiated hardware and software capabilities.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of firewall appliance platforms—from concept through launch, scale, and end-of-life.
  • Drive platform architecture decisions in collaboration with engineering and hardware design teams.
  • Define performance targets, feature priorities, and SKU segmentation.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with hardware engineering, firmware teams, and supply chain to deliver reliable and cost-effective platforms.
  • Work closely with marketing to define positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation.
  • Enable global sales teams and channel partners with product training, collateral, and launch materials.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor competitive offerings from vendors such as Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, and Cisco.
  • Track emerging trends in network security, including encrypted traffic inspection, zero-trust architectures, and AI-driven threat detection.
  • Translate market insights into roadmap priorities and pricing strategies.

Product Launch & Revenue Growth

  • Lead successful product launches across global markets.
  • Partner with finance and operations to drive pricing, margin targets, and revenue growth.
  • Monitor product performance and customer adoption to refine strategy.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of product management experience in network security, networking infrastructure, or enterprise hardware platforms.
  • Deep understanding of firewall technologies, network architectures, and security protocols.
  • Experience managing hardware appliances or integrated hardware/software platforms.
  • Proven ability to define product strategy and deliver successful product launches.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, sales, and marketing teams.

Preferred

  • Experience with next-generation firewall (NGFW) platforms and unified threat management technologies.
  • Knowledge of network performance architecture including ASICs, NPUs, and multi-core packet processing.
  • Familiarity with service provider and MSP channel models.
  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or business.
