Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc, based in Culver City, CA, is a subsidiary of Sony Honda Mobility Inc headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. As a 50/50 joint venture between Sony and Honda, SHM was established in Japan on September 28th, 2022, with over 200 employees in Tokyo. Sony Honda Mobility of America, situated in Culver City, California, was established in March 2023, where our dedicated team is working on introducing the electric vehicle, AFEELA, to the market. AFEELA embodies the essence of "FEEL," central to the mobility experience, fostering an interactive relationship where people "FEEL" mobility as an intelligent entity, and mobility reciprocates by "FEELing" people and society through sensing and network IT technologies. Position Summary

SHMA is looking for an experienced Sr. Manager, Business / Service Planning team member in Culver City, CA. At Sony Honda Mobility of America, we aim to transform the relationship between customers and mobility. By adopting a "Direct to Commerce" business model, we ensure that customers purchase not just the vehicle itself but also a suite of related products including financing, vehicle insurance, and trade-in options. To support this vision, SHMA is seeking talented individuals to develop these comprehensive services in collaboration with market partners.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Financial Product Development:
    • Collaborate with banks to create loans and lease products tailored to our customers needs.
    • Develop innovative financing solutions that enhance the purchasing experience.
  • Trade-In Vehicle Program:
    • Design and implement a trade in program that facilitates the exchange of vehicles from external sources when purchasing AFEELA.
    • Develop a seamless process for upgrading from one AFEELA to another.
  • Insurance Product Development:
    • Partner with insurance agencies to create comprehensive vehicle insurance programs.
    • Develop additional insurance products such as extended warranties and other related services.

Qualifications for Position

  • Proven experience in product development, preferably within the automotive or financial services industries.
  • Strong understanding of financing, insurance, and trade-in vehicle programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple areas of product development simultaneously.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills to work effectively with banks, insurance agencies, and other partners.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on enhancing customer experience.

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience in developing direct-to-consumer products.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
