Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Level Designer to join our Firesprite studio, working on a dark, story-driven 'Narrative Adventure' with genre defining goals. This huge, highly ambitious project takes atmosphere, storytelling, player agency and narrative firmly into ground-breaking territory on next-generation hardware technologies.

This project has AAA ambitions with a heavy focus on art, animation and delivering unique character performances to heighten player presence and immersion to new levels.

You will take ownership of parts of our world, working directly with the Principal Level Designer, the Level Design Team, and the Directors. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for their next challenge giving you a chance to improve the core, moment-to-moment gameplay, define the play spaces and see the game through to completion.

Ideally we would love individuals to be based in the studio for 1-3 days per week, but we may consider those who have a preference for remote working in the UK.

What you'll be doing:

  • Create outstanding playable gameplay spaces that supports and improves the narrative, mechanics and creative vision of the game.
  • Develop and iterate level designs through close collaboration with Artists, Game Design, narrative and other teams.
  • Create high quality documentation and reference for levels.
  • Review playtest feedback and iterate accordingly.
  • Review the tools and pipelines and look for improvements in efficiency.

  • Ability to own and deliver high-quality work, with little guidance from others.
  • Passionate about delivering the very best player experience.
  • Exceptional creativity and design skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of Level Design theory and best practices.
  • Energetic and positive attitude.
  • Proactive communication.
  • Strong Unreal 5 experience is beneficial
  • Significant professional game development experience with an impressive portfolio.
