PlayStation is looking for a Senior DevOps Information Systems Engineer to help operationally transform our machine learning environment and it's software supply chain to the next level! This role requires expertise in specialized hardware, storage, networking, cloud, software pipelines, and security practices. This team will continuously test new hardware and software to drive business growth focusing on exploring and integrating advancements, handle frequent upgrades, patches, onboarding, incidents, and provide 24/7 support across the US, EU, and JP regions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support & expand Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence compute cluster environments and local/S3 storage systems.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple IT teams across Sony to upgrade and improve infrastructure while enhancing the customer experience.
  • Analyze application and systems data to improve sub-optimal behaviors.
  • Engineer and use automation tools and processes to proactively supervise the health of production systems and respond to events.
  • Draft, collaborate, and implement policies, procedures, and technical reports associated with operating and maintaining infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with peers in the implementation of new topologies and services.
  • Collaborate with our Information Security team on multi-functional initiatives and investigations.
  • Demonstrate extraordinary customer service and establish close partnerships with customers/researchers from various Sony companies
  • Author and maintain documentation of systems and processes.
  • Some traveling may be required.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lead high complexity projects with multiple team members and collaborators.
  • Customer and peer relationship focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Unix/Linux systems internals and networking.
  • Expert level experience at building, deploying, and operating services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills across software, system, and network with a methodical and detailed approach to fixing issues.
  • Execution oriented and results driven with the ability to learn new skills/technologies quickly and independently.
  • Dynamic understanding of datacenter, cloud, and live production standard methodologies and experience working in live high availability internal customer facing production environments.
  • Expert experience with DevOps workloads including management of Ubuntu, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, Artifactory, web applications, filesystems, AWS, S3, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to structure code as a product in a manner that anticipates the type of scale and maintenance required for scopes of work.
  • Eight+ years of dynamic experience supporting enterprise environments including cloud.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in developing tools for system configuration, deployment, and monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, Manage-Engine, SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with Run.Ai, Omniverse, Weights and Biases, Jupyter, TensorBoard, Bright, Weka, NVIDIA.
  • Proficient with code languages and automation tools (Salt, Landscape, Bright Cluster Manager, Python, etc.).
  • Ability to craft, upgrade, and maintain platform services across on-premises and cloud-based providers.
  • Experience working with Atlassian Stack (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with networking principles as they relate to systems and code.
  • Deep understanding of modern OS platforms (Linux, Windows, Mac.)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$182,300 - $273,500 USD
