Licensing Softlines Specialist (contract)

*This is a 6 month contract opportunity 

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensing Softlines Specialist (Contractor) to support the SIE Licensed Merchandise team by managing licensees and execution of deals. This contract role will run from July 2025 to March 2026. In this capacity, you’ll help facilitate incoming deal proposals, manage granted rights, and ensure brand alignment and market readiness of licensing partnerships. This is a great opportunity for someone with a sharp attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal Facilitation: In partnership with the Licensing Director and Sr. Manager, facilitate incoming deal proposals upon completion of negotiations through to execution of the softlines category business (e.g. apparel & accessories, home décor, bedding) and product planning.
  • Partner Management: Manage ongoing discussions and relationships with licensee partners across various regions, including the US, Canada, and Latin America. Ensure clear communication and alignment on expectations. Support licensee onboarding and training as needed.
  • Line Planning: Work closely with licensee partners and SIE Product Development to develop line plans aligned to licensing strategy.
  • Latin America Support: Provide support on incoming deals in the region, ensuring alignment on terms and effective execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with the legal team, global teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure deals are executed correctly, and free from any conflicts.
  • Sales Material Development: Support the development and update of sales materials including pitch decks, business recaps, licensee lists, visual line lists, and marketing collateral to effectively communicate licensing opportunities to internal and external partners.
  • Forecast & Royalty Reporting: Collaborate with licensees and Finance team on sales forecasting and royalty reporting. Ensure timely and accurate reporting from licensees.
  • Licensing Partnership Executive Overview: Collaborate with Licensing, Retail and Product Development teams to highlight licensing activity for monthly executive updates
  • Additional Support / Ad Hoc projects: Provide support on additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

What We Need from You:

  • Experience: 6+ years of proven experience in licensing partnerships, specifically in softlines. Strong understanding of the licensing process, intellectual property, and brand guidelines.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing databases and tracking information. Must be resourceful and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint), with experience with project management or database software. Familiarity with royalty tracking systems or licensing software (e.g., MyMediabox, Flowhaven, BrandComply).
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide support on various tasks and projects as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to handling complex tasks.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of pop-culture, entertainment, and trends. Bonus points if you’re a gamer!

At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$113,000 - $170,000 USD
