Privacy Coordinator

San Mateo, CA (Hybrid)

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a Privacy Coordinator to join our global privacy operations team. This role, based in our San Mateo office, will support and coordinate the day-to-day operations and implementation of processes of the SIE global privacy team, with a focus on supporting the Americas region.

What We Are Looking For: A detail-oriented and proactive individual with initial experience in privacy operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating and devising privacy processes, managing software and tools, and supporting compliance initiatives, and have a keen understanding of privacy regulations, especially across the Americas region. You will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholder teams across different regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact within the SIE global privacy team to coordinate privacy operations initiatives across privacy and other SIE business units (Product, Marketing, Data Governance, Infosec, HR, vendor management, etc) and wider Sony group initiatives.
  • Triage and coordinate privacy requests to be handled by privacy team members.
  • Coordinate with Data Governance for allocation of privacy initiatives across the Global Privacy team.
  • Track incoming requests and embed response outputs into future KPIs to build quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure the effectiveness of the privacy program.
  • Support data incident response protocols. 
  • Develop and implement privacy operational processes in support of the global privacy operations team.
  • Support the delivery of training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Support the delivery of privacy management tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a privacy operations-related role.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • IAPP certification (CIPM/CIPPUS) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with privacy software management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and compliance requirements, particularly across the Americas region (US, Canada, LATAM).
  • Familiarity with developing tracking and reporting on privacy metrics.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$46 - $69 USD
