Do you want to join a Machine Learning Platform engineering team committed to delivering the PlayStation experience for millions of users? The work we do delivers impactful insights to build an increasingly dynamic and interactive experience! The AI/ML Engineering Group delivers optimized interactions across PlayStation experiences and systems by designing, coding, training, documenting, cost-effectively deploying and evaluating very large-scale machine learning systems.

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer who helps us deliver delightful products and experiences for millions, in an agile environment, collaborating with teams-across Engineering, Security, Architecture and Product. Further, you will be immersed in AI/ML technologies, tools and processes, as you help to advance our technical objectives and architectural initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Own, support, and optimize performance and costs across several ML platform components and services
  • Design integration patterns for seamlessly incorporating new components (either built in house or off the shelf) into the ML platform
  • Support planning and estimation of work requirements for delivering new ML platform capabilities
  • Establish and maintain security, compliance, and governance standards for the ML platform
  • Design comprehensive monitoring, observability, and alerting systems for understanding ML platform health
  • Collaborate with ML engineering teams to support productionizing ML models and experiments
  • Ensure ML platform scalability and reliability to support growing ML workloads
  • Support the professional growth and development of junior engineers

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure roles in the AI/ML space
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, or Go
  • Experience with cloud and container technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD, etc.) and how they enable MLOps best practices
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Knowledge and exposure in the past to various ML platforms, spanning across production and research needs
    • Experience with Databricks, Tecton, and Seldon
    • Experience with GPU accelerated high performance compute utilizing Run.ai for orchestrating and managing AI workloads 
    • Deployed and supported online services with high RPS and low latency requirements
