Role Overview

As a senior leader within the Studio Business Group, the Senior Director of Strategy, Operations & Transformation serves as a trusted advisor to the Vice President of Operations, providing strategic oversight and operational stewardship. This role acts as a critical link between executive vision and on-the-ground execution, ensuring the Studio Business Group's global strategy is clearly defined, effectively communicated, and consistently delivered across PlayStation’s worldwide studio network.

With a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, the role drives the execution of strategic initiatives, business transformation, and enterprise change management. The Senior Director also ensures operational excellence through continuous performance optimization, studio alignment, and stakeholder engagement. This role is functionally aligned with the Project Management Office (PMO) and is accountable for overseeing Operations and Transformation efforts while working in close partnership with the VP Operations, Heads of Production and senior stakeholders across the Studio Business Group.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Business Operations Oversight

- Partner with the VP of Operations to shape and oversee the long-term strategic direction of the Studio Business Group.
- Translate high-level strategy into actionable operational roadmaps, governance models, and performance frameworks.
- Provide structured oversight of business rhythms, executive reviews, and strategic initiative tracking to ensure timely delivery and alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead the development of strategic narratives and operational planning materials for mid-year reviews, executive briefings, board updates, leadership offsites, and investor communications as required.
- Collaborate with studio leaders to accelerate production cycles and design forward-looking innovation programmes.

Cross-Functional Programme Management

- Partner with the PMO to plan, monitor, and report on cross-studio strategic initiatives with operational and business impact.
- Oversee the management of programme interdependencies, risks, and delivery timelines across development, publishing, and platform teams.
- Ensure alignment and transparency between central leadership and individual studio operations on programme objectives and deliverables.

Change Management & Studio Engagement

- Lead the design and execution of structured change management plans to facilitate successful transitions in studio operations and business practices.
- Cultivate trusted relationships with studio leaders to encourage buy-in, manage sensitivities, and promote alignment with central strategies.
- Safeguard creative and production ecosystems during periods of strategic transformation and operational evolution.

Communications & Organisational Alignment

- Drive internal communication strategies that foster clarity, cohesion, and engagement across the global studio organisation.
- Serve as a strategic communication conduit between studio leadership, central operations, and executive leadership.
- Ensure consistent and coherent messaging around initiatives, priorities, and change efforts.

Operational Design & Performance Management

- Identify and implement process and operational model enhancements to increase efficiency, scalability, and value delivery across studios.
- Establish robust performance tracking tools, dashboards, and KPI systems to monitor progress, effectiveness, and business health.
- Provide visibility into benefit realisation and return on strategic investments through data-informed reporting and analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

- 15+ years of progressive experience in strategic operations, business transformation, or programme execution—preferably within gaming, entertainment, retail, or technology sectors.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with executive-level visibility.
- Deep expertise in organisational change, operating model development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical acumen with the ability to translate complex data and strategic insights into actionable operational plans.
- Familiarity with studio operations, game development lifecycles, or publishing environments is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership of high-performing transformation and operational teams.
