Senior Content Strategy Manager

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Content Strategy Manager to join the PlayStation team that runs PlayStation Plus – the world’s largest gaming subscription service. 

This is a unique opportunity to work in a team that drives significant impact for players, our partners, and PlayStation, in a fun, fast-paced environment.  

This role requires a mix of working across multiple complex projects with limited instructions, critical thinking, strategic planning, strong execution, commercial-mindedness, excellent storytelling, and a proven ability to partner optimally across multiple teams and divisions. You’ll combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to build and lead holistic plans while understanding the customer, and the strategic & financial impact of those choices, ensuring the best decision.  

The ideal person for this role will have proven experience in influencing senior stakeholders, an understanding of the gaming industry, enjoy using data to solve problems, the ability to visualize numbers in a clear and concise way, and lead workstreams effectively in an environment that’s constantly evolving. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Content Strategy Development: Shape the PlayStation Plus content strategy, framework, lifecycle management, and tactics, determining which types of games are included in the service to delight our subscribers, while also creating substantial value for publishers, supporting the company’s commercial success, and helping to evolve the service and benefits over time 

  • Performance Analysis: Use data to understand player behaviors and shape the content strategy and genre/title targeting 

  • Collaborative Partnership: Maintain strong network of stakeholders across multiple business areas, including content acquisition, engagement, analytics, sales, marketing, third-party relations, and PlayStation Studios, to align strategies, optimize outcomes, and support internal initiatives 

  • Commercial Insight: Apply customer, commercial, and publisher insights to inform and refine content plans 

  • Long-Term Planning: Develop 1-3 year content strategies and plans that target and engage customer cohorts. Collaborate with partners to build long-term business plans that align with the broader PlayStation strategy 

  • Budget Management: Support a multi-million-dollar content budget, shaping the strategy that defines how we execute the budget to maximize impact. 

 

What We're Looking For: 

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in content strategy, proposition development, commercial, planning, and customer offers in gaming, apps, video, music, or subscription services 

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills. Ability to break down complex data and present it clearly and actionably 

  • Team Collaboration: Proven experience working in high-performing teams, ideally in an international or remote working structure. Excellent communication skills for building relationships and influencing cross-functional partners 

  • Strategic and Tactical Thinking: Ability to think strategically and execute tactically with persistent attention to detail. Adapt quickly and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment 

  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of the digital gaming landscape, key players, and competitive offerings 

  • Leadership Skills: While this role will not be a people manager, the successful candidate will be highly autonomous and responsible for the results of projects and initiatives

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$165,100 - $247,700 USD
