Sr. Manager, Global Account Director

San Mateo or Los Angeles, CA / Hybrid (*In-office requirement once a week)

The Sr. Manager, Global Account Director is a critical leader within the Global Account Management Organization. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Accounts, the Global Account Director defines and sets strategic long-term objectives to deliver key commercial KPIs, Sony Interactive Entertainment priorities, and essential initiatives while ensuring a long-term healthy partner relationship. The Global Account Director leads from the front, creating a supportive and collaborative environment focused on delivering success for their partners and team. They will lead the Account Management team’s prioritization to provide the highest level of service for the strategic partner account and team. This role requires a tenured enterprise-level professional capable of representing SIE at the highest levels across their dynamic market segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent direct management / mentorship of the team, driving a culture of ownership and engagement, and providing support that enables the team to be successful in their roles
  • Manage a highly skilled global team (6+) of Global Account Managers and Go-to-Market Strategists across San Mateo, London and Tokyo 
  • Serve as the owner for the holistic partner business with PlayStation, orchestrating smooth hand-off of operational needs where appropriate
  • Ensure Partner needs are being met by internal teams and provide leadership and guidance as needed
  • Maintain executive-level relationships and foster deep connections across the partner organization
  • Develop & maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the Partner’s business, portfolio, and long-term strategic vision
  • Develop, own and execute external/internal business reviews, monthly/weekly team meetings, Business Performance Reviews, with a priority of sharing learnings across partners and peer account teams globally. (JBRs, JBPs, Content Lifecycle Plans, Performance Reviews, Post-Mortems, and overall governance)
  • Work with Head of Strategic Accounts and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Executive Leadership to understand market dynamics, shifting consumer demands, and adjust strategic priorities and plans to meet future market needs
  • Embrace SIE operating models, support plans and drive overall cadence of the business to deliver Strategic Account KPIs annually
  • Analyze and forecast commercial potential for the portfolio in collaboration with cross-functional teams, helping to set expectations internally of the market, release slate, and overall status of the business
  • Generate, own and execute long term enterprise-based strategic plan for PlayStation’s business within the market and develop the business case for any incremental support in conjunction with Partner Commerce Team
  • Responsible for Partners overall Partner Health, a key indicator of performance as the senior liaison
  • Build consensus and support with other Senior Managers when establishing best practice methodology

Qualifications: 

  • Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, or commensurate relevant experience
  • 10+ Years of experience in Sales, Account Management, Publisher Relations and other relevant service-oriented roles that manage revenue, especially with large AAA enterprise partners
  • 5+ Years of proven team management experience and mentorship of 6+ team members. (A bonus if teams are global multi-cultural)
  • Business Planning and Revenue Management expertise, with the ability to create and execute account plans and business cases
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to translate ambiguous situations or information into clear and actionable solutions
  • Passion for providing a stellar partner support, experience and producing high quality work
  • Experience working in Media, Entertainment, High-tech or other associated verticals a plus

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$185,800 - $278,800 USD
