Principal Business Operations Manager - Strategy & Business Operations
San Mateo or San Diego, CA (Hybrid) 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Program Manager to lead and scale strategic program operations across the organization. This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategy, driving operational excellence, and establishing high-impact operating mechanisms between business and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker, a strategic executor, and a context-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy Program Management 

  • Drive the execution of strategic initiatives that shape the company’s long-range planning and annual operating rhythm. 

  • Partner with Strategy, Finance, and Product leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable programs and measurable outcomes. 

  • Own the context and narrative around strategic goals, ensuring clarity and alignment across all levels of the organization. 

Business Operations & Productivity 

  • Design and implement scalable operating mechanisms that connect business units, departments, and corporate functions. 

  • Lead rhythm-of-business processes including yearly planning, quarterly reviews, and executive decision making. 

  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks to increase organizational productivity and decision velocity.  

Program Leadership & Governance 

  • Establish governance frameworks and decision-making processes that drive accountability and transparency. 

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure timely execution of strategic programs. 

  • Generate ownership and drive context by aligning stakeholders around shared goals and outcomes.  

Insights & Communication 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and communication channels to track strategic progress and business impact. 

  • Communicate program status, risks, and decisions to executive leadership with clarity and precision. 

  • Lead strategic workshops, milestone reviews, and executive briefings to ensure alignment and momentum. 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, strategy operations, or business transformation roles. 

  • Proven success in leading cross-functional programs that span strategy, operations, and product domains. 

  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills with a track record of designing scalable frameworks. 

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. 

  • Experience in enterprise enablement, strategy or portfolio planning, or transformation programs is highly desirable.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$241,000 - $361,400 USD
