Description 

 

The Product Development Manager, Franchise Rewards is responsible for the development of premium merchandise tied to in-game initiatives across the PlayStation Studios IP portfolio. This role brings authentic, high-quality products to life that reward players, expand fandom, and deepen engagement. 

 

This role will support multi-year planning efforts for engagement-driven merchandise programs and execute product development strategies aligned to Franchise Rewards plans. The role owns end-to-end development coordination, documentation, and process management for high-impact merchandise opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • With a deep understanding of player behavior, future in-game content and marketing activations, execute the development of compelling Franchise Rewards merchandising assortments on a 6-12 month timeline by managing the end-to-end merchandise development process, from initial concepts through production and delivery.  

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive Franchise Rewards merchandise plans for existing and new IP with a data-informed approach. 

  • Justify business recommendations by translating product development goals into solutions, identifying more cost-effective alternates and describing tradeoffs. 

  • Partner with Operations Manager to create realistic workback schedules that balance team resources with team budget goals.  

  • Own day-to-day project administration, including managing project timelines, task tracking, documentation, approvals, and production tracking.  

  • Assist with sample reviews, feedback consolidation and creative approval tracking.  

  • Track, interpret, and review sales performance indicators for specific projects and product categories to evaluate the success of strategies and objectives. 

  • Support senior members of the team on annual operating plans, providing research, input and actionable ideas to grow the business. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing merchandise and product strategies for a direct-to-consumer business.     

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent experience 

  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Asana, Shotgrid, Jira) and/or diverse project management methodologies required 

  • Highly structured, detail-oriented, and executional mindset with the ability to effectively manage many projects and tasks simultaneously, while maintaining clear team processes   

  • Capacity and confidence to be highly engaged and collaborative in a hybrid work environment. 

  • Ability to tackle ambiguity head-on to drive the planning process for merchandise programs through strong communication and organizational skills.  

  • Dedication to shipping best-in-class product, within real-world resource and business constraints.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$131,200 - $196,800 USD
