Senior Product Manager - Monetization

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead monetization strategy and execution for PlayStation Portal. This role will play a critical part in identifying, shaping, and delivering software monetization opportunities that grow profitability while enhancing the overall user experience.

The ideal candidate brings strong product management fundamentals, deep cross-functional collaboration skills, and proven experience driving monetization initiatives in platform, gaming, digital software, or related consumer technology businesses. This person will work closely with the Product team globally and a broad set of global cross-functional partners, requiring excellent communication, alignment, and execution skills across regions and time zones.

We are looking for someone who is highly data-driven, proactive, creative, and able to push through ambiguity and hurdles to bring impactful initiatives to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the monetization strategy for PS Portal, with a focus on software and platform-based revenue growth.
  • Identify new opportunities to increase profit through innovative monetization models, features, services, and user experiences.
  • Lead exploration and execution across monetization areas such as:
    • platform advertising opportunities
    • software and digital commerce experiences
    • gaming-related monetization initiatives
    • new business models and new revenue concepts
  • Partner closely with the Tokyo and US-based Product team to align on product direction, priorities, requirements, and execution plans.
  • Collaborate across a global cross-functional organization, including engineering, design, business, marketing, operations, analytics, finance, legal, and partner teams.
  • Translate business opportunities into product strategies, roadmaps, requirements, and launch plans.
  • Drive decision-making through strong use of data, customer insights, market understanding, and business analysis.
  • Create business cases and evaluate tradeoffs across user value, revenue potential, development cost, timing, and operational complexity.
  • Proactively identify risks, resolve blockers, and drive alignment to keep initiatives on schedule and on track for delivery.
  • Establish KPIs and success metrics, monitor performance, and iterate based on learnings.
  • Influence stakeholders at multiple levels and communicate clearly across regions, functions, and leadership audiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, business strategy, or platform planning
  • Proven track record of defining platform growth strategies
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience working across diverse teams globally
  • Analytical and structured problem-solver with the ability to synthesize business, market, and technical factors into a clear direction
  • Excellent communication, documentation skills, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience in launching global consumer platforms or game-related hardware/software products
  • Background in working with strategic or business development functions
  • Familiarity with platform ecosystems, developer relations, or hardware/software integration
  • Experience working with Japan-based teams and/or global teams who may not share the same culture as you do.





 

 

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$168,900 - $253,300 USD
