We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) contractor to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the quality of new and existing features across multiple platforms and devices through a combination of hands-on testing, test automation, and quality engineering practices.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience developing and maintaining automated tests and test frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and QE teams in a fast-paced development environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute Quality Engineering activities for new and existing features, including developing test strategies, test plans, test cases and test scenarios.
  • Review product requirements, technical specifications, and design documents to understand feature functionality, identify potential quality risks, and develop effective testing strategies.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing across supported platforms and devices.
  • Design, develop, maintain and enhance test automation frameworks and automated test suites.
  • Develop automated UI and API tests to improve test coverage, reliability, and overall testing efficiency.
  • Analyze automated test results, investigate failures, identify root causes, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor automated test executions and CI/CD jobs, investigate failures, and communicate quality status, risks, and blockers to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams on test strategy, test planning, execution and release readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation, tooling and overall QE processes.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years or equivalent experience in UI automation for web applications
  • Solid experience writing automated tests in Python, JavaScript, C ++ or any other Programming Language
  • Experience with Selenium or Appium or UI Automation technologies
  • Knowledge and experience testing APIs (RESTful), Libraries, SDK/Application Frameworks, Native Applications
  • Experience with at least one modern web application framework
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team and independently
  • Strong initiative and outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience developing or writing test code/scripting for a game console
  • Experience developing an application (game application is extra bonus)
  • Practical experience using development and deployment tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker
  • Experience using source control (esp. Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Circle CI)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$60 - $80 USD
