The Coordinator, Sample Licensing role will provide essential support in managing the day-to-day licensing matters for SME. This role involves assisting in the request, negotiation, drafting, and administration of sample licensing agreements on behalf of SME’s US labels (Arista, Columbia, Epic, RCA). The coordinator will also support the review and administration of requests by 3rd parties sampling SME’s catalog.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the request, negotiation and administration of sample licensing requests on behalf of SME labels.
- Assist in tracking upcoming releases related to samples and other third-party materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather the necessary information related to sample clearances.
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Support the preparation and distribution of clearance status reports to relevant teams, including royalties and Sony Music’s document retention system.
- Provide administrative support in coordinating internal and external approvals related to sample clearances.
Who you are:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in business affairs, licensing, or a related role within the music or entertainment industry.
- Basic understanding of music licensing, copyright law, and clearance processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with music industry software and databases.

New York Pay Range
$50,000 - $55,000 USD
