The Analyst - Podcast provides insightful and strategic reporting to the Global Podcast Division across both the US + UK. This is a great opportunity for a data-savvy candidate to support Sony Music’s efforts in podcasting.
The role is responsible for leveraging a suite of internal and 3rd party tools to generate reporting and strategic insights across SME’s global podcast division. The role combines performance reporting, audience insights and ad hoc duties to drive data-driven decision making. The Analyst will generate data-driven recommendations for diverse set of teams spanning creative, marketing, ad sales + executive leadership, ultimately translating the actionable insights into presentation format. The candidate will be part of Sony Music’s podcast team in New York and will report into the VP, Insights & Reporting.
What you'll do:
- Provide detailed weekly reports on show/episode performance, charting, + engagement metrics across the entire slate and key podcast titles to inform real-time decision making.
- Generate insight around existing + future audiences for our podcasts, leveraging multiple data sources across analytics + research. This includes designing + analyzing listener surveys for direct feedback from core audiences.
- Create deep-dive analyses or research studies to help refine audience targets, marketing, + ad sales, as well as evaluate future editorial decisions (e.g. talent conversations, creative concepts, etc).
- Prepare regular mid or post campaign analyses for key titles, identifying areas of success and optimization across creative and marketing.
- Respond to a large volume of ad-hoc data + analytics requests in a timely manner across multiple teams to support show marketing + sales efforts
Who you are:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in analytics, market/consumer research, media/entertainment research, audience development or related field
- Possess a strong knowledge and passion for podcasts is a must.
- Comfortable with various coding, survey research, visualization + data software programs/tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Python, Tableau, Looker social analytics platforms, survey design/analytics tools (e.g. Qualtrics, GWI, Brandwatch, Tubular, etc)
- Know how to tell a compelling story from data in a clear + concise manner – orally, in writing, and in visual presentations.
- Are an effective communicator, with excellent verbal + written communication skills
- Have great organizational skills + are comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency & speed, working well under tight deadlines.
- Degree with a concentration in Analytics / Psychology / Marketing / Consumer Behavior preferred (or equivalent work experience)

$64,000 - $70,000 USD
