
Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development, China- Liquid State
As a Senior Director, Marketing & Business Development, you are to develop full scope project marketing plans to drive music performance across all streaming platforms and an overall digital creative vision for Liquid State’s artists.
You will be part of the core team responsible for the overall development of music releases, artist branding, content creation, and business development.
This position will lead the China marketing team, as well as driving the streaming market shares, new business and artists development.
What you'll do:
- Lead and oversee all the active music release projects with the China’s marketing team, provide campaign feedback and guidance to the marketing team.
- Plan the development strategy for all the 360 artists under the label, in alignment with the creative team.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with all the DSP and media partners, initiate the exclusive partnerships or campaigns for the label.
- Discover TV and show opportunities for label’s artists.
- Drive new business development, responsible for increasing the annual business revenue. Build close relationship with brands, TV, gaming partners, publishers and show promoters for new business opportunities.
- Maintain a strong relationship with label’s represented international artists, develop localized marketing strategy for promoting them in the market.
- Lead the GC marketing budget, and oversee the effectiveness of the all the paid campaigns.
- Work with local and international A&R teams to discover potential song releases for the market.
- Discover and secure licensing projects in the market.
- Grow and guide the China’s marketing team.
Who you are:
- Must have at least 8-10 years working experience in music labels in Mainland China, artist management experience is a plus.
- Native Mandarin speaking, advanced professional English communication skills is required. Candidate with working or living abroad experience will be a plus.
- Well-versed or possess wide knowledge of developing local artists.
- Have good understanding of how the music business works in mainland China, have personal insights on the market and has in-dept knowledge with the local streaming platforms.
- Social media savvy (Douyin, Kuaishou, Tiktok, Instagram, Weibo, Bilibili, Snapchat and more).
- Experience with music promotional campaigns on Douyin is required.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to speak in forums, meetings and presentations.
- Time sensitive, capable of developing and keeping to a project timeline.
- A leader and a team player. Experience in leading a team of at least 4-5 members.
- Bilingual (Chinese & English), Excellent spoken and written English is a must.
