Manager, Brand Solutions, Sync & Licensing (Mass Appeal)

The Manager, Brand Solutions, Sync & Licensing will be responsible for identifying and pitching for sync opportunities for the company’s recording & publishing catalogues across various media platforms. This role requires a dynamic, creative individual with a good understanding of music and media, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. The role will also actively work to develop partnership opportunities for Mass Appeal’s roster of talent with key brands.

The ideal candidate will have strong relationships within the Indian and global entertainment industry and a keen ability to match songs and artists with projects. They will be resourceful, self-motivated, passionate about music, have a solid understanding of music rights and exceptional communication skills. This role blends creativity and sales with business acumen, requiring a genuine love for music, and the skill to navigate its commercial landscape, along with a talent for creative problem-solving.

What you'll do:

  • Maximize Mass Appeal’s music sync and licensing practice to drive revenue as we scale opportunities for Mass Appeal’s catalog and artists to support all media productions.
  • Maintain relationships with different levels of executives at music supervision companies, TV networks, production companies, directors, editors and music supervisors etc.
  • Actively pitch music to advertising, film, TV and all media to secure sync opportunities and increase revenue
  • Work to develop branded Mass Appeal programs and sell to partners in tandem with Collective Artist Network
  • Co-ordinate commissioned briefs
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the company’s music catalogue, release and priorities.
  • Monitoring and creating reports as required.
  • Overall maintenance of the sync database and contact list.
  • Attend industry events and/or organise artist showcases as necessary.
  • Help with quotes and negotiations for sync opportunities and coordinate with the label team for clearances.

Who you are:

  • You have minimum 5 years experience working creatively in the synchronisation and/or music business like label, sync agency, A&R or music supervisor with established relationships within the industry.
  • You have an ability to work on creative music searches and place songs as well as proven sales record and ability to close deals.
  • You have in depth knowledge of music & music licensing, and industry terminology used to negotiate the material deal points of a brand and synchronisation licence.
  • You have good copyright knowledge as it relates to the music industry (on both the master and publishing side).
  • You are detail oriented, organised, timely and accurate and can work on multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently and available to work extra hours as needed.
  • You have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • You are tech savvy and have strong proficiency in software/apps  including Microsoft and Google suites, DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music & more), DISCO etc.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, and also have the ability to work independently.
