Sony Music Entertainment (SME) is seeking a Director to join the Data Science & Analytics team. As a member of this team, you will provide business-focused machine learning and experimentation tools and services to our teammates throughout Sony Music. In this role, you will be at the forefront of SME’s efforts to combat streaming fraud. You will develop and implement advanced strategies to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, leveraging your expertise in machine learning and anomaly detection. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about music and technology and has a strong background in data science.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop SME’s global content protection program to prevent streaming fraud.
- Coordinate with commercial partners, vendors, and industry bodies to implement best practice solutions for tackling fraud and intellectual property-related issues.
- Evaluate and research technologies incorporating machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automated content recognition.
- Research and develop predictive models, statistical methods, and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
- Prepare and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights to inform business decisions.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including creative, business, legal, and engineering-focused teammates, to support business objectives.
- Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders and senior leadership to support decision-making processes.
Who you are:
- Must possess B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in machine learning, data analysis, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fraud detection.
- Knowledgeable about artificial intelligence.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and Java.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a positive outlook and eagerness to tackle complex challenges

New York Pay Range
$160,000 - $180,000 USD
