The Finance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Director of the Global Finance Reporting and Consolidation team, assisting with the review of financial statements for both domestic and international Sony Music labels. This role will give you an exceptional opportunity to understand various aspects of the music business from a global perspective including corporate accounting, royalty accounting and investment accounting.
What you'll do:
- Communicate and work with finance teams at Sony Music labels around the world to investigate and prepare variance analysis for the P&L and Balance sheet on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet Summary Review Files and summarize key trends using visual analysis reports
- Follow-up with label finance and corporate accounting teams mid-month on questions identified during the month end close to ensure proper accounting treatment for all accounts
- Review quarterly disclosure submissions from affiliates and prepare submission of disclosures to Tokyo
- Ad Hoc projects focusing on: Review of Intangible Assets and Investments, maintain various Global Finance breakdowns of balance sheet accounts, assist in preparing purchase accounting entries relating to new acquisitions
Who you are:
- BS in Finance or Accounting with 0-2 years of experience with an overall understanding of financial statements
- Proficient excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Tables, basic excel formulas, etc.)
- Must be detail oriented with an ability to work independently and on a team, a self-starter and someone who thrives in a deadline-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

New York Pay Range
$70,000 - $72,000 USD
