About Sony Music Entertainment
At Sony Music Entertainment, we fuel the creative journey. We’ve played a pioneering role in music history, from the first-ever music label to the invention of the flat disc record. We’ve nurtured some of music’s most iconic artists and produced some of the most influential recordings of all time.
Today, we work in more than 70 countries, supporting a diverse roster of international superstars, developing and independent artists, and visionary creators. From our position at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology, we bring imagination and expertise to the newest products and platforms, embrace new business models, employ breakthrough tools, and provide powerful insights that help our artists push creative boundaries and reach new audiences. In everything we do, we’re committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.
Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.
Business Solutions partners with our label, marketing, and release planning teams to build the tools and workflows that help them run more effectively. We operate as a trusted internal partner, not an order-taking function. Our work is guided by three principles: Fail Fast: test ideas quickly, and don't let perfection get in the way of progress; Learn Quickly: treat every iteration as a chance to learn, document, and adapt; and Move Forward: keep the work, and the people we support, moving.
The Architect is our platform strategist and systems thinker: the person who ensures our business systems ecosystem scales cleanly as it grows, while staying close enough to the business to know why it needs to. This role owns the center of excellence: defining the guardrails, patterns, and integration standards that every Business Solutions Specialist builds on, while remaining hands-on and business-facing rather than operating purely as a back-office architect.
What you'll do:
- Define and evolve platform architecture standards and development guardrails across our core business systems
- Partner closely with the SVP, Engineering and backend engineering on API and integration architecture
- Evaluate and help the team adopt adjacent tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, Pipedream, Salesforce, Zendesk, etc.) as workflows expand
- Provide architectural guidance and escalation support to the Business Solutions Specialists across business units
- Engage directly with senior stakeholders to understand cross-business-unit operations and the broader ecosystem
- Own the technical roadmap for platform scalability and maintainability
- Lead complex data migrations across multiple business units
- Contribute hands-on scripting/development work (integration scripts, workflow extensions) as needed
- Support scoping and discovery for complex, multi-BU initiatives
- Document standards, patterns, and best practices for the team
- Define the team's AI enablement strategy — the standards, playbooks, and success metrics Specialists use to drive sustained AI adoption within business units, including tools like Claude Cowork
- Own governance guardrails for AI-enabled workflows in partnership with Legal, InfoSec, and Privacy, ensuring new automation and AI use cases meet enterprise compliance requirements
- Define measures of success for the Business Solutions platform and AI enablement program; use adoption and usage data to evaluate outcomes and inform roadmap priorities
Who you are:
- 8-12 years in solutions architecture, business systems architecture, or platform engineering, with substantial experience designing and scaling enterprise-grade no-code/low-code business systems, built to be secure, scalable, and well-governed, not just functional
- Track record designing and scaling automation/workflow architecture across multiple business units or departments
- Working proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python) for automation and integration work
- Experience integrating no-code platforms with enterprise systems (CRM, ticketing, ERP) via APIs or middleware
- Strong business acumen, able to translate business needs into technical architecture and back
- Excellent stakeholder management; equally credible with engineers and business executives
- A systems thinker and tool-agnostic problem solver, comfortable picking up new platforms as our stack evolves
- Extensive A.I. experience implementing or using tools such as Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work, Google Gemini
- Experience building or leading a center of excellence, AI governance body, or platform governance function
- Demonstrated ability to define measures of success and use data to evaluate outcomes and drive accountability
- Experience working within enterprise environments with established governance, privacy, security, and compliance expectations
Nice to Have (not required)
- Experience in music, media, or entertainment, particularly around rights, royalties, or metadata
- Deep, hands-on Airtable expertise (our current core platform), including advanced automations and scripting extensions
What we give you:
- You join an inclusive, collaborative and global community where you have the opportunity to channel your passion every day
- A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamwork empowering you to bring your best
- An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K + employer matching
