Sotheby’s, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Head of Buying, Merchandising and E-Commerce, Wine & Spirits to lead end-to-end logistics and financial operations for the purchase, marketing, and sale of fine wine and spirits. Manage gross margin profitability of fine wine and spirits sales. Determine online, store, and direct sales selections and pricing strategies. Create digital promotional activities and manage their performance. Maintain inventory turnover against business goals. Plan and execute consumer-targeted events to promote the business. Direct importation of fine wine and spirits into New York from other countries and states. #LI-DNI
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with selling, buying, and pricing fine wine and spirits with minimum value of $1 million per year. Experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with managing online wine and spirits business with minimum sales value of $1 million per year; 2 years of experience with selling or buying fine wine and/or spirits overseas; 2 years of experience with cold chain logistics of importing and exporting fine wine; 2 years of experience with purchasing fine wine and spirits from auction houses; and 2 years of experience with data analysis and data modeling, including pivot tables and index matches. Up to 15% international travel required.
