Compensation: $30.82 - $36.30/Hour
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Location/Hours: Hybrid – 3 days/week in office
All candidates must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate, Institutional Giving provides operational support to the Institutional Giving (IG) team and plays an integral role in helping to raise grant funding from corporate and private foundations in support of SEO’s programs, including the New York Scholars program, SEO General Support, the Tech Developer program, and National SEO IG efforts. As Associate, Institutional Giving, you will conduct prospect and donor research to assist in identifying new funding opportunities to help build the IG pipeline, manage the IG pipeline in Salesforce, and serving as the liaison to the Development Operations team to coordinate revenue tracking and reconciliation.
Grants Revenue Generation Support
- Support the Senior Director, Institutional Giving with completing requisite funder applications, which has a direct impact on raising grants revenue for the SEO Annual Awards gala.
- Provide general administrative support to the Institutional Giving team in completing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports.
- Maintain and update institutional giving contact records in Salesforce.
Revenue Processing & Tracking
- Manage grants acknowledgment process.
- Process and share grant contracts and forms utilizing best practices for the Development department and in cooperation with Development Operations team members.
- Maintain revenue source reports.
- Support management of the institutional giving pipeline in Salesforce.
- Support management of the institutional giving annual revenue projection report.
Research & Data Management
- Conduct thorough prospect and donor research based on the guidance from the Senior Director, Institutional Giving.
- Create and maintain biographical information in CRM/database and profile reports.
- Maintain records in department database (Salesforce) and donor files.
IG Team Office Management
- Manage electronic filing systems.
- Maintain calendars and meeting schedules.
- Prepare mailings and general correspondence and maintain mailing lists to support site visits, development newsletters and other stewardship activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-2 years prior fundraising work experience, preferably in institutional giving and/or grants preparation. Internships and work-study will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- Ability to communicate with donors in a thoughtful, engaged manner.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills with very strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Strategic thinker who is disciplined in project oversight and execution.
- Adept at using technology, including Microsoft Office suite and donor database systems. Salesforce database experience preferred.
- Strong ability to leverage data and dashboards to track pipeline and moves management and continually optimize approaches.
