Product Marketing Manager

Timing of Hire: May - August 

Compensation: $2592/Month

Our Product Marketing team’s mission is to develop and execute SpotOn’s go-to-market strategy for our suite of products to drive our products’ usage growth.

Internship Goals

As a Product Marketing contractor, you will gain hands-on experience in product marketing, understanding go-to-market strategies, and contributing to bringing new features to market. The key goals for this internship include:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of SpotOn’s customer  and competitive landscape.
  • Assisting in go-to-market planning and execution to drive product adoption of core functionality.
  • Developing analytical and communication skills by conducting market research and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing teams to refine messaging and positioning.
  • Contributing to real-world projects that directly impact business growth and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the GTM plans to drive awareness and adoption of new features.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research.
  • Ensure the sales-enablement team has the necessary information to support product launches. Create sales tools and content including videos, FAQs, presentations, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with product, sales, marketing, and support teams to develop product marketing materials and assets.
  • Support the Product Marketing managers’ work and track the launch plan’s execution.
  • Support product communications processes to ensure timely delivery of accurate information to internal and external audiences.
  • Be the voice of our customers and passionately represent their needs.

Projects You Will Work On

During your internship, you will contribute to impactful projects, including:

  •  
  • Handheld Software Migration: Support the adoption of SpotOn’s latest handheld amongst existing customers by developing positioning, messaging, and enablement strategies that highlight benefits and differentiators for a smooth customer migration.
  • Identifying Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) & Competitive analysis for Partnerships: Conduct market research and data analysis to define and refine SpotOn’s ideal customer profiles for strategic partnerships, enabling better targeting and engagement.
  • SpotOn Dashboard Product Launches: Contribute to the positioning, and execution of new product launches within the SpotOn dashboard, by collaborating with Sales Enablement, Customer Experience, and Marketing teams to drive internal and external communication.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of product marketing or sales enablement/training experience at a tech company, or minimum 2 years previous product marketing or product management internship experience
  • BA/BS degree, preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • High level of comfort working collaboratively with teams across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and proactively communicate changes and roadblocks.
  • Experience with content creation such as case studies, blog posts, webinars, FAQs, etc.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience using market research and analysis.
  • Experience conducting user interviews.
