Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Lead Revenue Cycle will play a key role in overseeing the distribution of revenue-related assignments and assisting with ad hoc revenue cycle responsibilities. This position is designed for someone with a strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, who can effectively manage and mentor a team, ensure operational efficiency, and contribute to process improvements.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Assignment Distribution: Distribute and assign revenue cycle tasks to the team, ensuring all weekly and ad hoc responsibilities are completed on time, accurately, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Team Mentorship & Support: Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to team members, offering support in troubleshooting, resolving issues, driving process improvements, and fostering team development.
  • Revenue Cycle Support & Subject Matter Expertise: Assist with day-to-day revenue cycle tasks as needed, ensuring smooth operations across various areas such as payment posting, billing audits, adjustments, and refund processing. Act as a subject matter expert for the team, providing support and guidance on claim rejections, denials, drafting appeals, and follow-up actions. Help team members and colleagues navigate complex claim issues, offering expertise to ensure timely resolution and reduce rework, ensuring the continued success of the revenue cycle.
  • Process Improvement and Collaboration: Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize revenue cycle processes, aiming to reduce inefficiencies, minimize errors, and enhance overall team performance and workflow. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Spring Health to ensure alignment on revenue cycle operations, proactively resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Take on special assignments and tasks as directed by the Revenue Cycle Manager, ensuring that operational and strategic goals are met and that tasks are completed within the specified timelines.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and ensure revenue cycle targets are met or exceeded. Provide regular updates to the Revenue Cycle Manager regarding team metrics and progress.
  • Other Assignments: Take on additional duties and responsibilities as designed by the Revenue Cycle Manager to support the broader goals of the department and company.

  • Seamless Revenue Cycle Support: Success is demonstrated when the Revenue Cycle Lead is able to assist effectively in payment posting, billing audits, adjustments, and refunds, ensuring that the team runs smoothly and that issues are resolved quickly. When needed, the Lead actively steps in to ensure operations remain uninterrupted.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: A successful Revenue Cycle Lead fosters strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across departments. Success in this area means resolving issues collaboratively, improving communication, and aligning team goals with broader company objectives.
  • Effective Management of Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Success involves seamlessly managing ad hoc assignments as directed by the Revenue Cycle Manager. Completing special projects on time and in alignment with departmental and organizational goals demonstrates success in adaptability and organizational alignment.
  • Consistent Achievement of KPIs: Success means consistently meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs). Whether it's the accuracy of payment posting, audit completion, or response times, a successful Revenue Cycle Lead helps the team achieve high performance and operational excellence.
  • Focus on Continuous Process Improvement: A successful Revenue Cycle Lead is always seeking ways to improve processes. Success is reflected in the ongoing reduction of manual adjustments, the implementation of new, more efficient workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Clear and Effective Communication: Success means maintaining open, transparent, and consistent communication across the team and with other departments. When communication is clear, team members can collaborate effectively, resolve issues promptly, and stay aligned on shared goals.
  • Utilization of Technology to Enhance Efficiency: Success in this role means leveraging tools like Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) to automate and streamline processes, reduce errors, and improve overall operational efficiency. A successful lead uses technology to enhance the accuracy of the payment posting process and improve overall workflow.

What we expect from you: 

High School Diploma or GED Required: A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with at least three (3) years of experience in the healthcare field in a similar role.

The target base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
