Engineering at StackAdapt
As an engineer at StackAdapt, you’ll build production-level software that directly impacts our advertising platform. You’ll work with modern stacks across Go, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, and more. Our engineering org is collaborative, cross-functional, and built around clear growth paths.

About the team
You’ll join the Creatives Platform group—an engineering team responsible for the systems and tooling that power self-serve creative creation and our in-house creative template library.

About the role
We’re hiring a design-led technologist to be a dedicated creative template partner embedded with engineering. The focus is to:
Collect Feedback and design new creative  templates across channels, especially motion-heavy formats (Video/DCO)
Bridge engineering, product, and client-facing teams by identifying creative library gaps and translating them into scalable platform capabilities
This role is intentionally design + motion forward, with enough technical comfort to produce and iterate on templates directly.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and produce programmatic templates using client assets and/or original concepts, spanning static, animated, and interactive formats.
  • Create motion-forward template systems (animation patterns, transitions, reusable motion components) using tools like After Effects / Animate / Google Web Designer (or similar).
  • Build and maintain interactive HTML5 templates that work across devices and platforms; troubleshoot layout/behavior issues using HTML5/CSS (and light JavaScript when needed).
  • Partner with Engineering / Creative Studio / Product to understand what customers struggle to create, then translate insights into:
    • New template concepts and reusable patterns for our in-house creative library
    • Platform/library capability gaps for engineer and designer to build together (e.g., missing building blocks, controls, animation features, workflows)
  • Develop ads creative best practices across channels and industries, and work with the team to apply vertical-specific creative strategies and patterns to inform template design.
  • Participate in select customer/CS discussions to validate requirements and ensure templates solve real problems.
  • Own quality checks (visual polish, specs compliance, responsiveness, accessibility considerations where applicable, and functional testing).
  • Improve template workflows through standards (naming, structure, components), documentation, and experimentation with better tooling—including AI-assisted workflows where helpful.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of experience as a motion/visual designer (or equivalent portfolio-based experience).
  • A portfolio showing strong digital advertising craft across display / social / web (motion work required; interactive is a plus).
  • Intermediate+ motion/animation skills and strong visual design fundamentals (composition, typography, pacing, brand sensibility).
  • Practical experience with HTML5 + CSS, including debugging/troubleshooting interactive creatives.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects; familiarity with Google Web Designer / Animate is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills: you can translate ambiguous needs into clear template requirements and work effectively with engineers.

Nice to have:

  • Experience optimizing creative assets for mobile/video environments; familiarity with DOOH and/or native formats.
  • Experience with DCO / feed-driven creative or template frameworks.
  • Basic video/audio editing experience.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools (or a strong interest in doing so) to improve creative production workflows.
  • Familiarity with Figma, component libraries, or design systems for reusable creative building blocks.
