About the Position:
Are you meticulous, detail oriented, and creative (or at least creative-adjacent?) If so, you may be a fit for the Communications Team at St. Anne’s-Belfield School!
We are seeking an administrative assistant to support the Chief Communications Officer and other members of the Comms Team during the 2025-26 school year, during which the team will be undertaking a major website redesign project in addition to supporting all of the school’s marketing and communications efforts. During this year, this person will be a vital and valued member of the four-person Comms Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Log marketing requests into our project management software
- Manage vendor invoices and reconcile credit card statements
- Collect data to prepare campaign reports and analyses
- Handle day-to-day communications including departmental email, calendars, meeting minutes, and schedules
- Publish and organize photos in the School’s digital asset management software
- Make website edits and updates
- Publish content to the School’s news site and social media
- Maintain and edit the Comms team standard operating procedures and branding documentation
- Build and send weekly email bulletins
- Edit and provide quality assurance for marketing materials
- As a member of a small team of four, help document school daily life through photography or videography (via mobile phone camera or using the School’s professional equipment, depending on skills and interest)
- Serve on the all-school administrative professionals team to provide phone coverage and other administrative support
Education and Experience:
Clerical experience required. Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, or related field preferred.
Special Requirements: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. This position is in person in Charlottesville.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional writing and communication skills;
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills;
- High level of interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Ability to hold a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information;
- Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of digital software (web publishing, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.);
- Creativity, integrity, energy, and enthusiasm;
- Must like children and be eager to join a school community of people of all ages.
Physical Conditions and Work Contacts:
Working conditions are normal for a communications office. This includes sitting, standing, walking, and carrying 25+ lbs. of equipment.
Compensation
$18 to $20.50 per hour, depending on experience
