If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take ownership of a large, revenue-generating area of the business, we want to hear from you!

What you'll do

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you’ll be a key leader in designing, building, and operating the foundational data infrastructure and tooling that powers all data initiatives across the organization. Your critical focus will be on the scalability, reliability, cost-efficiency, and governance of the entire data stack. You will architect and implement solutions for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, and automated observability, ensuring our data platform is robust, compliant, and cost-optimized. You’ll also mentor other engineers on best practices for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and operational excellence, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive strategic usage of a self-service, governed data platform.

We’re in a period of high growth which means we move fast, but you’ll do so alongside smart, driven individuals in a fun, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth. Learning Agile is one of our core values, which means that we are always identifying ways to make things better, and welcome new tools and languages that help us improve the way we work.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining the core data platform infrastructure (e.g., cloud environments, orchestration tools, data warehouses) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
  • Implementing and enforcing data governance, security, and access control mechanisms across the entire data stack, including cataloging, quality checks, and lineage tools available.
  • Driving FinOps initiatives by monitoring, optimizing, and reporting on data infrastructure costs to ensure efficiency and cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Establishing and operating the CI/CD pipeline, monitoring, alerting, and observability tools for all data assets and infrastructure components.
  • Providing and managing a robust, self-service environment for Data Analysts and Machine Learning Engineers to securely consume and process data.
  • Evaluating, implementing, and keeping all data-related tools and technologies up-to-date, acting as the subject matter expert for the data ecosystem.
  • Own and lead platform initiatives from inception to delivery and maintenance in an autonomous way.
  • Proactively adding positive energy to our rapidly growing company.

Your skills and experience

  • Data Platform Engineering & IaC: Deep, hands-on experience building, scaling, and operating data platforms on cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) using Terraform.
  • Platform Tooling & Operations: Proven expertise in setting up and managing modern data orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster), monitoring, and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Data Governance & FinOps: Strong practical experience implementing data governance frameworks (e.g., metadata management, access control) and a solid understanding of cloud cost management (FinOps) for data resources.
  • Modern Data Architecture: Expert knowledge of deploying and optimizing data warehouse/lake technologies (e.g., Databricks, Delta Lake).
  • DevOps/MLOps: Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Gitlab CI, Jenkins) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and managing data applications and ML models.
  • Programming & Scripting: Expert proficiency in Python (or Scala) and strong shell scripting skills for automation and infrastructure management.
  • Autonomous & Strategic Impact: Ability to own complex platform initiatives and clearly communicate their architectural and operational benefits, including cost/benefit analysis, to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary & benefits
  • Company laptop and phone reimbursement (if required)
  • Other awesome secret benefits we’ll tell you once you are on the team
