Content Integrity Lead

Detroit, MI

Help empower our global customers to connect to culture through their passions.

Why you’ll love this role

You’ll be part of a collaborative and mission-driven Trust & Safety team dedicated to protecting the integrity of the marketplace. As a Content Integrity Lead, you’ll play a critical role not only in reviewing complex and high-risk content, but also in guiding the team’s quality, consistency, and operational excellence. Each day brings new and evolving challenges across listings and live environments, and your leadership will directly influence decision-making standards, policy enforcement quality, and the overall safety of the platform.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the review and moderation of both static listings and live content, including images, video, audio, and text, handling complex, high-risk, or sensitive cases involving hate speech, harassment, nudity, graphic content, prohibited items, and other policy violations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for specialized or severe cases and emerging abuse trends, making sound, defensible enforcement decisions based on content policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, including case audits, calibration sessions, and feedback loops to ensure consistency, accuracy, and policy alignment across the moderation team.
  • Support onboarding and training of moderators, reinforce policy expertise, provide real-time coaching, and contribute to the development and refinement of moderation guidelines and workflows.
  • Manage complex user appeals and secondary reviews, ensuring thorough reassessment of enforcement actions and clear documentation of final determinations.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support investigations, improve tooling, and maintain operational alignment with policy standards.
  • Monitor team assignments, performance metrics, and uphold quality, accuracy, and productivity standards, helping drive continuous improvement across moderation operations.

About you

  • 3+ years of experience in content moderation, Trust & Safety, fraud operations, or a related compliance-focused role, with demonstrated experience handling complex escalations.
  • Strong English language proficiency with the ability to interpret and apply nuanced policies, exercise strong judgment in high-impact situations, and guide others in consistent decision-making.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, coaching, training, or informal team leadership within moderation or compliance environments.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to document complex enforcement decisions clearly and defensibly.
  • Ability to review sensitive or disturbing content with professionalism, emotional resilience, and discretion.

Nice to have skills

  • Experience working with third-party moderation vendors or supporting vendor performance management.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted moderation tools, risk scoring systems, case management platforms, or model feedback workflows.
  • Knowledge of or professional experience with footwear, apparel, accessories, collectibles, and consumer electronics categories.
