
Retail Inventory Planner
Overview:
The retail planner is responsible for planning all inventory quantities for our retail locations across Arizona, Maryland, and Ohio. This includes understanding product demand trends and working closely with retail and marketing teams to make sure store specific product needs are met. This person has an intimate understanding of menu variety requirements and market trends. This person is also responsible for providing necessary data analysis to drive business decisions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Allocation of all internally produced goods from our production sites to our retail stores
- Partners with production planner to understand production rate of internally produced products to forecast ability to fulfill retail inventory needs
- Order guide management for quantity and inventory health
- Promotional change management to ensure promotions follow requirements for inventory on hand and meet company financial policies
- Ongoing monitoring of inventory health and pars
- Reviews inventory aging, expiring, and coordinates with procurement on promotions or vendor swaps
- Forecasts promotional sales rates based on based promotional performance or market trends
- Analyzing store menus to find product or strain variety gaps and submits allocation orders
- Monitors inventory levels for emergency orders and health against promotional plans and sales velocity
- Establish order quantities based on company order and allocation guides
- Contributes to internal company meetings related to inventory menus and quantity / price and cost planning
- Sends weekly recap emails to store management outlining plans between retail and procurement
- Reviews inventory for upcoming promotions or new products being added to menu and works with retail, marketing and supply chain teams to establish order quantities and pricing
- Assists in investigation of inventory discrepancies
- Facilitates store-to-store inventory transfers as needed to minimize risk of aging inventory or over-buying
- Reviews retail inventory KPI’s to adjust purchasing and allocation activity to meet inventory and sales goals
- Assist in item creation and catalog maintenance to ensure timely receiving and item data integrity
Qualifications:
- Must have detailed understanding of cannabis product brands, categories and types
- 3+ years experience in Cannabis in a retail management or procurement role
- 3+ years supply chain experience specifically in procurement or inventory planning
- Ability to use the computer.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage high stress situations and to be flexible and adaptable when required.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
- At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
- Proper employment documentation.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends, if requested.
- Experience and knowledge in horticulture and/or agriculture preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, or walking for extended periods.
Education:
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required
Maryland Pay Range
$70,000 - $75,000 USD
