
Janitor
Overview:
We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment in our cannabis manufacturing facility. This role is essential to ensuring that production areas meet strict cleanliness and safety standards required by state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
· Clean and sanitize all facility areas including production rooms, offices, restrooms, break areas, and storage spaces.
· Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, equipment exteriors, and surfaces.
· Collect and dispose of waste, recyclables, and compostable materials according to facility protocols.
· Support deep-cleaning and sanitation schedules for processing and packaging areas.
· Refill and restock cleaning supplies and sanitation materials.
· Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
· Document cleaning activities as required for compliance logs and audits.
· Work closely with the production team to minimize contamination risks and maintain hygiene standards.
· Immediately report any maintenance issues, spills, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Previous janitorial, custodial, or sanitation experience (manufacturing or food production environment preferred).
· Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and handling procedures.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Strong attention to detail and reliability.
· Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain all state-required cannabis badging, which includes a pre-employment background check.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID card.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
· Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for long durations.
· Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
· Allergen warnings - Potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
· May require daily use of provided PPE.
Maryland Pay Range
$17 - $17 USD
