Position Summary & Responsibilities

Strata Information Group (SIG) is accepting applications for the full-time role of Financial Aid Consultant – Colleague.  As a seasoned financial aid professional, you'll leverage your extensive experience in higher education to provide strategic direction and expert guidance to our vast client base. As a consultant, you will support our client’s short-term as well as any long-term needs identified within Colleague financial aid. This dynamic position involves collaborating with key stakeholders, implementing Colleague best practices, supporting regulatory requirements, and ensuring seamless functionality to enhance financial aid processes of our clients. This role does include travel to provide our clients with onsite support whenever needed.  Join us in shaping the future of higher education! 

  • Lead clients through the full implementation of the Colleague Financial Aid module using Colleague provided documentation along with industry best practices.  identified client group with training using Colleague best practices.   
  • Provide clients with post go live support using industry and SIG best practices to optimize their standard work and processes to make best use of their Colleague financial aid module.   
  • Provide clients with short-term consulting support to assess their existing processes and provide guidance on optimization wherever possible.   
  • Provide clients with federal/state regulatory support where needed/identified to ensure compliance with the US Department of Education. 
  • Provide clients with best practices and support where needed/identified on the full financial aid cycle for an academic year.   

Provide clients with support via managed services if needed/identified to provide on the ground support for a defined period.    

Required Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years working within the Higher Education Industry as an experienced and knowledgeable subject matter expert in financial aid.  
  • 3-5 years of experience actively working within the Ellucian Colleague Financial Aid module, demonstrating advanced user proficiency  
  • Experience in a consulting capacity, focusing on enhancing business processes, creating standard work, and enhancing operating efficiency 
  • Demonstrated expertise using Colleague to improve and automate business processes within the Financial Aid office at a college or university 
  • Ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot technical and/or functional issues within the Colleague Financial Aid module to mitigate risk and minimize interruptions to the client’s business operations.  
  • Demonstrated, and exceptional experience communicating effectively across various areas of the business.   
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency when needed to provide clients with real-time and on-time support.   
  • Possess a deep understanding of where student financial aid data lives within Colleague to provide clients with support running reports within Colleague, as well as support SIG technical consultants when needed with any report writing outside of Colleague.  
  • The ability to travel up to 25% 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience managing project-based work. 
  • Working knowledge of Colleague best practices implemented across various types of institutions within higher education.   
  • The ability to read and write SQL queries is useful for this role 

Pay and Benefits

  • The salary range is $90,000 -$120,000

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
