School Programs Manager
Career Opportunity - School Programs Manager with the Cincinnati Opera in Cincinnati, OH
Cincinnati Opera seeks a dedicated advocate for opera with strong administrative and communication skills to create and manage its school-based education programs. The ideal candidate brings experience in K–12 education and a working knowledge of the performing arts, particularly opera. This is a full-time, seasonal position running from mid-August through mid-June of each year. The School Programs Manager reports to the General Director & CEO.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver educational programs for K–12 students that introduce opera in engaging, age-appropriate ways, fostering familiarity with and enthusiasm for the art form.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies that maximize program visibility and participation among primary and secondary schools in the Greater Cincinnati region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, school administrators, and teaching artists to ensure program effectiveness and alignment with schools’ needs.
- Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports on program participation, outcomes, and engagement.
- Partner with the Philanthropy team to track and support the successful fulfillment of grant-related goals and reporting requirements.
- Gather and organize stories, images, and other documentation to highlight program successes and demonstrate impact.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- An optimistic and solution-oriented temperament
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in primary or secondary education
- Familiarity and interest in opera/performing arts

Compensation
This is a salary exempt position with an annual compensation of $40,000 to $45,000, commensurate with experience. Cincinnati Opera offers an extensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance; paid time off; parking; and 403(b) with a portion matched by the company.
