What You’ll Do
Strive’s Medical Assistants (MAs) play a critical role in supporting quality patient care. The MA will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the high-quality compassionate kidney care provided to our patients. While primarily conducted via telecommunication, this role may necessitate on-site visits to various healthcare settings or patient homes. This hybrid role includes in-home visits based on patient requirements, with potential face-to-face meetings with colleagues and leadership as needed. This role will report to the Lead, Nurse Practitioner.
The Day to Day
- Executes on the measurement, collection, and recording of vital signs, phlebotomy, etc.
- Supports functions including answering telephone calls, retrieving medical records from external sources, completing patient intakes, and appointment scheduling.
- Enters documentation in the patient’s medical record by inputting medications, labs, patient demographics and history, screening data, care documentation, and pharmacy information.
- Ensures patient consent is in place, obtains consent if not already completed.
- Supports Nurse Practitioners for visits, follow up tasks including patient outreach, educational materials, DME etc.
- Serves patients and performs patient visits in multiple care settings as defined by role including patient home, clinics, partner MD space, and via telehealth/virtual visits.
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure the delivery of holistic patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years combined of related education, experience, or certification.
- Graduate from a medical assistant program such as Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, OR Graduate of a formal medical assistant program.
- Current BLS or CPR Certification required.
- Efficient and reliable transportation, including an active driver’s license, allowing for the ability to travel across an assigned region to meet patient needs. Locations may include offices, clinics, and patient homes.
- Provides in-person patient care which may include standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Highly collaborative, with experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Hourly Range: $22.25-$25.00
