Position Summary:
Karel-Gordon & Associates is looking for an experienced Retirement Combo Plan Administrator. This full-time, fully remote role involves complete (A-Z) administration of a book of DB/DC combo retirement plans. You’ll work closely with in-house actuaries, maintain client relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage full-cycle administration for approximately a book of small DB/DC combo plans.
- Interpret and communicate actuarial valuation results and issues with actuaries and clients.
- Prepare annual valuation packages, including valuation reports, funding notices, certifications, IRS Forms 5500, 5330, 8955-SSA, and PBGC premium filings.
- Conduct and review annual nondiscrimination testing for DB, Cash Balance, and combo plans (e.g., 410(b), 401(a)(4), 401(a)(26), gateway testing).
- Design and update plan provisions for existing and prospective clients.
- Calculate projections, contributions, and participant distributions; review related forms and documentation.
- Review and ensure accuracy of all reports, disclosures, filings, and communications sent to clients or government agencies.
- Research and resolve technical or regulatory issues.
- Maintain proactive, client-focused communication and provide guidance on compliance requirements.
- Participate in continuing education (e.g., webcasts, ASPPA exams).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of DB and DC retirement plan administration experience, preferably in a TPA environment.
- Working knowledge of the Datair system preferred.
- Proven ability to accurately and efficiently perform valuation and trust accounting/asset reconciliation work.
- Strong knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations, requirements, and filings.
- Ability to analyze plan documents and recommend plan design or compliance updates.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
Pay Transparency Statement:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $70,000-$95,000 annually.
At Strongpoint Partners, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
