Job Description

The Global Tour and Trade Sales Director will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Sales to promote the experience to domestic and international markets, thereby increasing revenue for the SUMMIT Paris. This includes consumer-oriented advertising initiatives with trade partners, tradeshows, sales missions, familiarization tours, agent training, groups, and other initiatives for the global travel trade industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent SUMMIT Paris at Domestic and International trade shows, sales missions & virtual presentations.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales calls and product training.
  • Liaise with travel trade operators, wholesalers, travel agents, trade, and consumer media, as well as in-state industry partners on various travel trade cooperative programs and promotional opportunities.
  • Manage all B2B accounts – FIT, Wholesale, strategic partnerships, local accounts (hotels and concierges’ partnerships), and groups (leisure and corporate).
  • Prospected new business opportunities, prioritized leads, acquired and developed new strategic accounts.
  • Coordinate special events for the travel trade and concierge community.
  • Be an ambassador to the local community by attending appropriate networking events, becoming involved in activities, and participating in relevant events and informational meetings.
  • Assist with the creation of digital and print B2B and B2C sales materials.
  • Create and implement on and offline trade, consumer, and media partnerships and marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the creation of promotional sales materials (printed and digital) – guest-facing and trade clients.
  • Market trend analysis and benchmarking - Track international and domestic travel trends to inform fiscal year strategy and projections.
  • Assist in developing and implementing annual sales plans, with a strong focus on different outlets and opportunities.
  • Assist the Marketing Department in creating an e-mail newsletter that is specific to B2B audiences -Communicate with the Marketing Department about special content.
  • Assist the customer service departments to exceed accounts' expectations, the finance department to secure client credit lines, and the IT department to ensure technical solutions are best tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain and update the client's database platform with the latest communication.
  • Communicate with the Box Office Team about new clients and updates to accounts.
  • Communicate with the accounting team about clients (setting up new accounts, disputes, invoices).
  • Required to achieve assigned sales goals.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly sales reports.

Requirements

  • Degree in Hospitality and a minimum of 7 years of sales experience in the attractions/tourism industry.
  • Must be fluent in French, English, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders across a global organization.
  • Previous experience in the travel industry with an understanding of travel distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Specialties: Stellar Customer Service, Long-Term Relationship Management, Business Development Expert, Creative and Professional Problem-Solving, Strategic Thinking, Client Acquisition.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-groomed, highly personable, and professional with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and focused.
  • Strong ability to work with the public and demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results as actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM, POS, and ticketing systems - Gateway Ticketing preferred.
  • Proven ability to balance business goals with service standards, and the establishment of strategies, and operational practices.
  • Must be a self-motivated, innovative thinker who enjoys working with a diverse team in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on long- and short-term goals in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in foreign languages a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
