Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What we do:
The Benefits Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company benefits and perks programs. This position oversees all benefits and perks programs and leaves of absence and accommodations. The Benefits Manager will also maintain working knowledge of the federal and state legislation influencing benefits to ensure programs are current with regulations and practices, trends, and costs.
What you can do:
- Oversee the administration of all benefit and perks plans
- Supervise the administration of all plan vendors, work closely with third party administrators to expedite and facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all eligible employees
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely processing of data for benefit enrollments, changes and termination information in the HRIS and vendor systems
- Manage the day-to-day administration of health, wellness, retirement plans (401K) and perks
- Apply functional knowledge and oversee the accuracy and compliance with DOL, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA and any other applicable Federal, State, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Prepare and develop annual benefits proposal for senior management approval and provide recommendations for improvement
- Participate in national and local benefit surveys to analyze benefits data to assess utilization and trends and develop recommendations
- Negotiate with third-party benefits consultants to provide competitive, employee-friendly, inclusive plans to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service
- Provide management support and assistance with the development and coordination of new employee orientation, annual open enrollment and distribution of correspondence and updates pertaining to benefits to all eligible employees
- Ensure guaranteed issuance and evidence of insurability requirements and procedures are implemented and followed in a timely manner and in accordance with Benefit Plan contracts/policies
- Evaluate and recommend updates to Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions, benefit summaries, contracts, new hire orientation and open enrollment materials, and ongoing marketing/educational materials, develop and maintain a structure for reflecting the scope, terms and cost (including renewal data) of each
- Manage the organization’s retirement plan including ongoing compliance, testing, and plan review
- Manage and oversee the leave of absence program and ADA accommodations
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Track cost expenditures for compliance with budget
- Act as the escalation point and solution provider to address benefits issues
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Legal department to align benefits strategy with overall business objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Human Resources related discipline; Master's degree strongly preferred
- A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in an equivalent role (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive benefits program
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams, including mentoring, performance management, and fostering team engagement
- Skilled in managing a team with diverse responsibilities, ensuring deadlines are met while fostering motivation and engagement among team members
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations’ HRIS and Bswift programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with experience creating sophisticated materials and delivering presentations to executive leadership teams
- Excellent negotiation, and vendor management skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role
- Extensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations related to employee benefits
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$142,500 - $157,500 USD
