Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What we do:
The Director of Human Resources will lead the HR function across Supernal. The role requires a proactive, operationally focused HR leader who can align HR strategies with business goals, enhance HR systems, and drive results while working both strategically and tactically. This role requires the ability to successfully influence leaders and business decisions and manage a dispersed team in a fast paced and changing environment. This functional leader will have a demonstrable track record of successfully creating and implementing high-impact programs that improve the organizational effectiveness of high-growth, high-tech organizations. The Director of Human Resources will report to senior leadership and will partner with a global human resources team to ensure programs are optimized with industry best practices.
What you can do:
Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational goals, creating a cohesive, effective, and scalable HR function across the organization
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies for the entire organization, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
- Oversee all HR operations with a refined, efficient, and consistent approach
- Ensure the entire recruitment and onboarding process is optimized to attract and retain top talent
- Collaborate with the CFO, and other senior leaders to design workforce planning strategies that support business growth and scalability
- Oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs and align with industry standards to attract and retain talent
- Cultivate a positive organizational culture through strong employee relations practices and clear internal communications on HR matters
- Implement and be responsible for performance management processes that reinforce high performance, accountability, and career growth
- Lead HR-driven initiatives that support organizational development, enhance engagement, and build a positive work environment
- Evaluate, select, and integrate HR technology solutions to support data-driven decision-making, streamline processes, and ensure efficient HR operations
- Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ensure employee relations and workplace investigations mitigate risk and maintain a positive, compliant workplace environment
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to build an HR function that effectively supports the company’s overall objectives, enhancing collaboration and alignment across departments
- Lead change management initiatives to support organizational growth, reinforce cultural consistency, and foster resilience in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of twenty (20) years in HR, including five (5) years in senior leadership in high-growth or regulated industries
- Proven experience in establishing or restructuring HR departments in dynamic, evolving environments
- Strong foundation in HR operations, including compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and compliance, with a focus on operational efficiency
- Prior experience in the aerospace, automotive, or tech sectors is highly desirable
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly within California
- Familiarity with best practices in organizational development, talent management, and employee engagement for high-growth organizations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive HR initiatives across all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to optimizing HR processes
- Effective communicator, able to translate HR strategies into actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional partners
- Operationally focused and resilient, with a strong drive to implement consistency and structure within HR
- High ethical standards and integrity, dedicated to fostering a transparent, compliant, and positive workplace culture
- Adaptable and able to straddle both strategic and tactical HR, with a forward-thinking approach that supports the unique challenges of a startup environment

- HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are a plus
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$235,000 - $260,000 USD
