Are you a detail-oriented database development professional ready to turn complex information into powerful insights?

The Junior Python Developer will optimize Super-Sod's design, performance, and quality, while continuously evolving our technology stack. This position will work with both front-end and back-end developers to build all client-side logic. The Developer's responsibilities include optimizing applications, ensuring UI/UX feasibility, and implementing API designs and architecture.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Architect, design, develop, and assist in the development of web applications to support internal and external clients and stakeholders
  2. Collaborate with a team of developers to design end-to-end, industry-leading systems and solutions
  3. Rapidly prototype new ideas, concepts, and designs
  4. Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
  5. Research and develop new web and mobile technology applications to improve user interface
  6. Write, modify, and debug web applications using Python, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  7. Design, code, and manage automated test scripts, continuous builds, and deployment
  8. Create modern and responsive layouts from designs and messaging provided by the creative team
  9. Develop new features, enhance existing features, and implement bug fixes in existing code
  10. Self-document development processes, conduct peer reviews, and give actionable feedback

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and, in some cases, from a remote offsite location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position is primarily sedentary and requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires good manual dexterity and coordination with the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the IT Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Some weekend and evening hours may be necessary to accommodate any issues that might arise.

 

Travel

This position requires 20% travel time.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  2. Expert knowledge of Python
  3. Experience working in a lean/agile development environment with remote teams
  4. Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills
  5. Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  6. Unit/integration testing experience
  7. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  8. Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

 

General Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 USD
