Datacenter Engineer
Sustainable Talent is partnering with Nvidia a global leader who's been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for over 25 years. We are looking for a Datacenter Engineer to support our client's IPP (Infrastructure, Process, and Planning) team. This is a W-2 full-time contract based onsite in Santa Clara, CA. In this role, you will be faced with the challenge of leading migrations from various datacenters. Come up with an execution plan and drive execution through various PICs. This will also include planning for highest efficiency within our DC environment influencing bin packing with data collated and making sure deployments happen within defined SLAs.
What you will be doing:
- Handling Labs and Data Centers using DCIM Tools, spreadsheets and task tracking tools.
- Work closely with platform/sysadmins/SREs to ensure power and space metrics are reviewed and actions taken to improve and fix these.
- Engage with the third-party support as needed.
- Central point of contact for all DC floor issues.
- Liaison to DCEO for day-to-day work.
- Handle critical issues with DCEO/platform/Engineering for the resolution of the issues.
- Work on Operations projects (such as monitoring, digital twin).
- Coordinate with the DCEO/platform teams to ensure the systems records in internal DCIM tool are updated for each new system install/migration activity.
- Publish weekly status reports related to space (RU), power utilization, cooling.
- Handle requests related to access needs.
- Track the PUE, cooling stats.
- Creates SOPs for operations and make sure EHS compliance is met in all our sites.
- Coordinate DC floor data collection for Audits such as Equipment records, Energy (ISO50001).
What we need to see:
- Associate or bachelor's Degree in a Tech related Major or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading DC Operations.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems administration.
- Experience in systems planning.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ways to stand out of the crowd:
- Visio and CAD experience for Lab R&D projects and Rack Management.
- Lab/Datacenter Procurement Experience.
- Experience with handling PDUs and Power in Labs.
- Working knowledge of basic SQL queries (for DCIM reporting).
