IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist

Swarm Aero is redefining air power, building the largest swarming UAV and most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. The company is moving quickly to launch the first aircraft designed specifically for swarming as well as the Command & Control software to mobilize swarms of thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets and empower human operators to achieve superhuman results.  

The team has created and exited multiple startups, negotiated defense deals worth billions of dollars and designed and built 30+ novel aircraft, with aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, SpaceX, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic. 

Role Overview: 

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will be the primary point of contact for maintaining IT infrastructure, providing helpdesk support, and ensuring staff have the tools and technology they need to achieve maximum efficiency. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, focusing on end-user support, infrastructure management, and optimizing cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical support contact, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while managing user onboarding/offboarding and account provisioning
  • Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), Office 365, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), including device management tools (Intune, JAMF) and SaaS applications
  • Implement and maintain security protocols across cloud environments while supporting compliance with NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI data handling policies
  • Perform system health monitoring, updates, patch management, and regular backup operations across all infrastructure
  • Manage hardware lifecycle from procurement through decommissioning, and maintain license servers (Cadence, NX, HyperX, Teamcenter)
  • Support productivity platforms (Jira, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint) and deploy workflow automation using adaptive cards and SharePoint integration
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles to enable team self-service and continuous improvement

 

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and Office 365 administration
  • Cloud Computing: Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS (EC2, EKS, S3)
  • Initiative & Adaptability: Strong willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Soft Skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Documentation-first mindset with a focus on process improvement
  • Strong collaboration skills and team-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Docker containerization and AWS-based applications
  • Experience with corporate SaaS applications and device management tools (Intune, JAMF)
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation
  • Background managing and maintaining enterprise productivity tools
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing cloud-based services
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated industries

 

Location: Swarm Aero (Hybrid/Onsite) – 4 days on-site at OXR/week 

Compensation: 85K-120K + Equity
